In November 2008, Matt Cutts spoke at the Web 2.0 conference in San Fransisco on preventing virtual blight. Like most of Matt's presentations its a simple but extremely useful presentation that most webmasters must go through. With the increasing number of black hat attacks and hackers adding to it at times it is important for the modern webmaster to be aware of the possibilities and how to prevent them. Now that Matt has decided to share this, we have it here for our readers.
For those of you who do not have much idea about virtual blight, a subjective idea about it would be the decaying process of the web. As in urban blight the city gets into a decaying phase with increasing prominence of negative activities in this case the general standard of web gets compromised and con artists of the web like the spammers and hackers contribute to it.
